Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - Fatlace

One of my current favourite sites, Fatlace, was in Tokyo for the Auto Salon. Not just as visitors but as full-on exhibitors, bringing out not just 1 but a number of cars, each showcasing a different style and approach to car culture.

With the Pièce de résistance being Rauh Welt Begriff's latest project, the Spearmint Rhino.

It was my first time seeing an RWB car in the flesh. After all the drooling and salivating behind the screens staring at RWB cars on the internets, seeing one in real life was pretty unreal.

It was sooooo ridiculously wide and sooooo ridiculously low, but it was also just sooooo ridiculously awesome.

When you get up close to the Rhino, you can see the attention to detail and the craftsmanship behind Nakai-san's work.

This is no hack and slash job, check out the finishing on the panel gaps.

Crazy but perfect wheel fitment without the use of airbags.

Another beautiful Fatlace car, perfectly chosen TE37V's on this dori dori S13.

Loving the stance and the fat rubber.

Fatlace also had a couple of lovely assistants around.

Interesting choice of inner wear. We not complaining!

On the VIP side, there was a Vellfire...

... and a sweet Daihatsu Move.

The Move sitting Hellaflushed.

I even had the chance to meet up with Mark Arcenal, the head honcho of Fatlace. Awesome friendly dude. Hope we meet again in the future.
